Apricot Lip Scrub – makes your lips silky and kissable

Did you know that lipstick lasts up to ten times longer on top of clean, well-scrubbed lips? Yup, true story. That’s where our awesome Apricot Lip Scrub comes in.

Whether you use a bright lipstick or a nude lip gloss, your canvas (aka lips) needs to be clean and smooth to absorb the color properly. Here is a delicious and crunchy Apricot Lip Scrub recipe that you can make in exactly 1 minute. Or 30 seconds if you start timing it after you have gathered all the ingredients, a bowl and a little stirring utensil.

Why Apricot Oil?

We chose Apricot Oil because it is gentle and light. It’s also the most popular oil gentle enough for baby skin, so it works really well on the delicate skin of your lips.

Sugar is the least abrasive natural ingredient for scrubs. Since it’s edible and you are using it right on your lips, go ahead and pick your favorite or what you have available. Whether it’s brown, cane or plain old white sugar, it’s up to you!

Vanilla Extract is an ingredient that most of us keep handy, so why not use it to give your lip scrub extra yumminess?

And without further ado, here’s this simple and simply awesome recipe:

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon Apricot Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar – white, brown or cane
  • the pulp of a vanilla bean
  • 3 drops Vanilla Extract

How to

  • In a water-friendly container, mix the sugar and apricot oil
  • Add the vanilla extract drops and stir
  • Rub on moist lips in circular motion until happiness starts to take over
  • Use any excess scrub for the rest of your face, or just eat it up
  • Put your best lip stick on!

  1. Thank you for this. I am looking for apricot seed to make a scrub. Any idea of where to find this? Back in the 70s and 80s my uncle sold a product called Apri in his health food store in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, NY. It was a pure product along with an apricot oil.. This is no longer available – I would love to know a source.

    thank you!

    1. Hello Isa, thanks for writing! I believe you can use our Apricot Oil, it’s cold pressed from the kernel of the apricot fruit and maybe it’s what your uncle was selling? It certainly is a great carrier oil, light and easy to incorporate in most skin care recipes.

  2. Hello. What’s the shelf life of this product and how often can it be used? I have a teen daughter who would love this and I don’t want her to over-do it. Thanks.
